Coffee drinks on the Comstock! [Virginia City NV] We were planning on having dinner in South Lake Tahoe so we skipped having a meal here in Virginia City. Instead I had a scoop of ice cream. It was around 3:30p and this cafe was our last stop. They only had 4 flavors available. It's okay, I liked 50% of the flavors. I chose a scoop of Cookies & Cream. The cafe is located in an 1876 brick building best known as "The Brass Rail Saloon" before the Roasting House took over in 2011. Pretty cool that the original Brass Rail saloon counter still stands and now serves as a full service espresso and old fashioned soda bar. Would love to try a waffle sandwich... the Morning Glory sounds divine! or maybe a Breakfast Bagel, or a Turkey Bacon Panini... ahhh! Take me back!! Review #3644

Historical building with a quaint coffee roasting shop. The scent of roasting g coffee coming out the rustic door is intriguing. We did. It get coffee... came in for ice cream. Double scoop was huge.... They have 4 flavors along with a huge selection of smoothies and shakes. Nice balcony out the back door let's you look over 6 mile canyon and the sierras.

It has been a bit since I have been in The Roasting House and a good bit has changed. Today we were here for breakfast. The restaurant is still clean with plenty of seating at tables and the coffee bar. The staff was nice but wasn't too personable. The menu has been condensed down and a good bit of choice has been take out (before you could choose your meat-now they come as is). The food now comes out in to-go containers and paper bags with the food wrapped in foil (regardless of dine in or take out) instead of on regular plates. My dad and my husband had the Breakfast Bagel on an everything Bagel. There was an abundance of scrambled egg and ham and it was well seasoned. I had the Breakfast Sandwich also but upgraded to a waffle instead of a bagel. Mine was more waffle than egg and ham. The waffle was soggy. The sandwich was very one note. I probably will stick to the Roasting House for my coffee instead of food.

Good coffee, but not a lot of variety for breakfast. It also came in styrofoam, for some reason. The tables were nice, though, with decorative flowers.

I got a lavender latte and my partner got a peppermint mocha. The lavender latte was perfect and just what I needed on a rainy day. The views in the back of the cafe was absolutely amazing! Would come back for their drinks. It did take a bit long (about 20 min for two drinks) at 2pm ish but wouldn't mind it if I'm not in a rush!

My girlfriend and I came last weekend for our first time at The Roasting House. It was cold outside and we were in the mood for some good hot chocolate. Walking in we were greeted right away. I asked if they had any dairy alternatives and I was surprised by the number of dairy free milks they had. I chose oat milk, it's my favorite, and my girlfriend went with regular milk. While our drinks were made we wandered around the small cafe. The deco is cute, they have curtains made from coffee bean sacks. In the back of the cafe they have an old fashioned and still working coffee bean roaster. We were a few minute too late to see it in action but hope to catch it sometime soon. We got our hot chocolates pretty quickly and they were both delicious, better than some other places that I frequent. Between the service and the drinks, we plan on coming back often. I highly recommend The Roasting House!
